Fowler’s Alexis Alvarado voted The Fresno Bee prep girls Athlete of the Week for May 15-20
Alexis Alvarado of Fowler High softball was voted The Fresno Bee Girls Athlete of the Week for May 15-20.
She finished with 16,644 votes (51%) to come out on top.
Finishing in second was Anisa Torres of Caruthers softball (15,337 votes, 47%).
Ten high school athletes were nominated and come from softball and track and field.
Voting ended at 11:59 p.m. May 29.
Past winners are Hannah Marinovich of Clovis West swimming, Nailea Fields of Caruthers track and field, Amanda Herrera of Immanuel softball, Tylee Erickson of Immanuel softball, Anisa Torres of Caruthers softball, Chloe Solis of Clovis East softball, Mia Castillo of Orange Cove softball, Star Roman-Elizondo of Orange Cove softball, Gizelle Aguirre of Caruthers softball, Daisy Regalado of Mt. Whitney softball, Isabella Marie Gonzales of Clovis East wrestling, Morgan O’Neal of Buchanan soccer, Hannah Peters of Clovis North soccer, Abigail Ochoa of Washington Union soccer, Morgan Trigueiro of Caruthers basketball (three times), Jaelyn Bourdeau of Coalinga basketball, Alexis Holland of Washington Union basketball, Taryn Brice of Clovis West soccer and Taylor Rombaoa of Clovis East basketball.
