Star Roman-Elizondo of Orange Cove softball wins The Fresno Bee girls Athlete of the Week for March 20

Roman-Elizondo won the poll with 30,033 votes (56%). She finished ahead of Stacy Garcia of Selma softball who had 21,804 votes (41%).·

The 13 high school athletes nominated came from lacrosse, softball, swimming and track and field.

Voting ended 11:59 p.m. April 3.

Past winners are Gizelle Aguirre of Caruthers softball, Daisy Regalado of Mt. Whitney softball, Isabella Marie Gonzales of Clovis East wrestling, Morgan O’Neal of Buchanan soccer, Hannah Peters of Clovis North soccer, Abigail Ochoa of Washington Union soccer, Morgan Trigueiro of Caruthers basketball (three times), Jaelyn Bourdeau of Coalinga basketball, Alexis Holland of Washington Union basketball, Taryn Brice of Clovis West soccer and Taylor Rombaoa of Clovis East basketball.
