Gizelle Aguirre voted The Fresno Bee prep girls Athlete of the Week for March 13-18

Gizelle Aguirre of Caruthers softball is voted The Fresno Bee Girls Athlete of the Week for March 13-18.

She finished with 46,651 votes (55%).

Aguirre led the way for the Blue Raiders when she finished the game with a triple, home run and two RBI in a win over Firebaugh.

Alina Hernandez of Redwood softball was second with 32,498 votes (38%). Malina Ledesma of Sanger softball was third with 3,502 votes (4%).

The 14 high school athletes nominated came from lacrosse, softball, swimming and track and field.

Voting ended at 11:59 p.m. March 27.

Past winners are Daisy Regalado of Mt. Whitney softball, Isabella Marie Gonzales of Clovis East wrestling, Morgan O’Neal of Buchanan soccer, Hannah Peters of Clovis North soccer, Abigail Ochoa of Washington Union soccer, Morgan Trigueiro of Caruthers basketball (three times), Jaelyn Bourdeau of Coalinga basketball, Alexis Holland of Washington Union basketball, Taryn Brice of Clovis West soccer and Taylor Rombaoa of Clovis East basketball.
