Caruthers’ Morgan Trigueiro is voted The Bee’s prep girls Athlete of the Week for Feb. 27

For a third time, Morgan Trigueiro was voted The Fresno Bee Girls Athlete of the Week for Feb. 27-March 4.

Twelve high school athletes were nominated, coming from basketball, lacrosse and softball.

Voting ended at 11:59 p.m. March 13.

Fans voted Trigueiro 11,666 times (62%) as she finished ahead of Aliya Green of Clovis West softball (6,738 votes, 36%).

Past winners are Isabella Marie Gonzales, Clovis East wrestling, Morgan O’Neal of Buchanan soccer, Hannah Peters of Clovis North soccer, Abigail Ochoa of Washington Union soccer, Morgan Trigueiro of Caruthers basketball (two times), Jaelyn Bourdeau of Coalinga basketball, Alexis Holland of Washington Union basketball, Taryn Brice of Clovis West soccer and Taylor Rombaoa of Clovis East basketball.
