Fresno-area preps: 1-2 matchup looms for TRAC title; coach picks up milestone win
The regular season ends this week before the start of the Central Section high school basketball playoffs next week.
The Tri-River Athletic Conference girls title is on the line when The Bee’s top-ranked Clovis meets No. 2 Clovis West.
The matchup will take place at 7 p.m. Friday at Clovis High.
It’s a rematch from a thrilling first matchup on Jan. 24 when the Cougars went to Clovis West and won 52-51.
A win by Clovis would give the Cougars an outright TRAC championship, but a win by the Golden Eagles would mean both teams would share the conference title.
Last week, Clovis West coach Craig Campbell notched his 700th career win.
There were plenty of changes in the latest rankings, including Caruthers, San Joaquin Memorial and Roosevelt moving up after picking up wins.
