Central Section football playoff predictions: Revenge for teams in quarterfinals?
The Central Section high school football playoffs move to quarterfinals this week in Divisions I-VI.
Three local teams in Division I that had byes last week will play rematches on Thursday. Games were moved up a day because of Veterans Day on Friday. Hanford and Bakersfield Christian, however, will play on Friday because Hanford West hosts Kern Valley in a Division VI game on Thursday at the Neighbor Bowl.
There is no clear favorite in Division I. It was an unpredictable Tri-River Athletic Conference season.
San Joaquin Memorial defeated Central 23-21 at Koligian Stadium, while Clovis North outlasted Buchanan 28-21 and Clovis West rolled to a 27-0 victory over Clovis.
