Bee’s Best: Mia Nishikawa wins The Bee’s Girls Athlete of the Week poll for March 21-26

Mia Nishikawa of Central softball is the winner of The Bee’s high school Girls Athlete of the Week poll for March 21-26.

She finished with 118,867 votes (39%) to finish ahead of Brynn Close of Riverdale softball who tallied 98,443 votes (32%).

Finishing third was Hannah Medina of Riverdale softball who picked up 41,522 votes (14%).

Twenty-one prep athletes were nominated.

The nominees were from lacrosse, softball and track.

The poll closed at midnight Sunday.

Recent winners include: Athena Tomlinson of Clovis West basketball, Melayna Vasquez of Fowler soccer, Darleth Felix of Tulare Union basketball, Morgan Triguiero of Caruthers basketball, Anna Marshall of Caruthers basketball, Anisa Torres of Caruthers basketball, Krissy Turman of Caruthers basketball, Aubryelle Aguilar of Clovis East softball and Leah Estrada of Sanger softball.
