Pairings set for prep regional basketball, soccer. Where, when Fresno-area teams play
Twenty-nine Fresno-area high school basketball and soccer teams advanced to the CIF regional playoffs beginning Tuesday.
The best seeds went to the Clovis West boys basketball team and the Fowler boys soccer team, which each earned a No. 2 seed.
Most of the Fresno-area teams are in Northern California regionals.
The action begins Tuesday with first-round games in 16-team basketball brackets and eight-team soccer brackets in Divisions I-V.
The eight-team Open Division basketball regionals begin Wednesday with Clovis West hosting a doubleheader. The Golden Eagles girls, seeded No. 3 in NorCal, play No. 6 Folsom at 6 p.m. and the Clovis West boys play No. 7 Sheldon in a NorCal game at 8 p.m.
