Bee’s Best: Athena Tomlinson wins The Bee’s Athlete of the Week for Nov. 29-Dec. 4

Athena Tomlinson of Clovis West basketball is the winner of The Bee’s Athlete of the Week for Nov. 29-Dec. 4

Tomlinson finished with 54,776 votes (91%), ahead of Julius Olanrewaju of Coalinga basketball who picked up 2,181 votes (4%).

Colton Kobashi of Clovis North wrestling came in third with 1,200 votes (2%).

Thirty-three athletes were nominated for The Bee’s Athlete of the Week.

The nominees were from basketball, soccer and wrestling.

The poll closed at noon Saturday.

Past winners: Grace Van Der Kooi of Central Valley Christian volleyball, Katelyn Goforth of Kerman volleyball, Andrew Gray of Madera water polo, Krisalynn Turman of Caruthers volleyball, Margaret Arambula of Mission Oak volleyball, Kristen Landen of Clovis West volleyball, Gabby Russell of Clovis West volleyball, Goforth again, Marissa Mendrin of Kerman volleyball, Susie Phillips of Central Valley Christian golf, Gianna Mastro of Clovis West tennis, Evan Torres of Parlier cross country, Kaydence Cortez-Garcia of Clovis West soccer and Kenyah Stubbs of Hanford basketball.
