This Central Section soccer team won on penalty kicks to advance in CIF state playoffs
The Sanger High boys soccer team won on penalty kicks over Central Valley-Ceres in the California Interscholastic Federation state playoffs Tuesday.
The third-seeded Apaches, winners of the County/Metro Athletic Conference and the Central Section Division II title, edged Central Valley 8-7 in the Northern California Division II regionals.

Also advancing were the Clovis and Kingsburg girls soccer teams.
The No. 2 seed Cougars rolled to a 4-0 victory over No. 7 Folsom in Division II action.
