Here are the nominees off last week’s performances:

Josh Magana, Dinuba basketball: The senior became the school’s leader in career points in a 61-37 victory over Exeter, according to Central Section historian Bob Barnett. Magana passed Doug Potter and reached 1,386 points. He made four 3-pointers and has 108 for the season; his 312 career total is third-most in section history, Barnett said.

Carmen Rodriguez, Edison soccer: The sophomore made nine saves in the Tigers’ 4-1 victory over Buchanan in a section Division I girls soccer quarterfinal upset. Tigers coach Larry Hinz said the Bears had several close-range shots that Rodriguez stopped.

Mireya Lua, Orosi soccer: The senior captain is the goalkeeper for the Cardinals, but it was her foot that sent her team to the next round of the playoffs. Lua’s penalty kick goal gave Orosi the 5-4 PKs win over Exeter.

Cristobal Ramos, Dinuba soccer: The senior scored on a free kick in overtime to give Dinuba a 2-1 playoff victory over Madera.

Samantha Montes, San Joaquin Memorial soccer: The senior midfielder/striker scored in the second half to give the Panthers a 1-0 playoff victory over Nipomo.
