Here are the nominees off last week’s performances:
Ryan Franco, Clovis North wrestling: Was named the outstanding wrestler at the Mission San Jose Invitational. He wrestled at 132 pounds and won an individual title and helped the Broncos to the tournament title.
Aaliyah Thompson, Corcoran basketball: The sophomore had two big games. She had 28 points and 18 rebounds in a 52-48 victory over Farmersville, then 30 points and 15 rebounds in a 47-30 victory over Lindsay. She passed 1,000 career points, according to Central Section historian Bob Barnett.
Clarissa Moreno, Selma basketball: The senior helped the Bears stay unbeaten in the Central Sequoia League with a game-high 32 points in a 55-50 victory over Exeter.
Shawn Rodgers, Immanuel basketball: Totaled 44 points in three Eagles victories as he reahed the 1,000-point mark for his career. He had 18 points in an 82-77 win over Centennial, 18 points in a 72-71 win over Dinuba and eight points in a 71-37 win over Rancho San Juan-Salinas.
Ashley Wainwright, Redwood soccer: She scored two goals in the second half for a 2-0 victory over Hanford to secure a West Yosemite League title.
