We meet again. Buchanan and Central girls volleyball will meet for a fourth time
Three times is not enough for the Buchanan High and Central High volleyball teams.
The Tri-River Athletic Conference rivals will meet again, only this time the CIF Northern California open division regional final will be on the line.
The Central Section Division I champions Bears swept No. 3 Marin Catholic-Kentfield 25-15, 25-21, 25-21.
But the fifth-seeded Grizzlies upset top-seeded Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory-San Francisco 13-25, 25-23, 17-25, 25-16, 15-12.
That means Buchanan will host Central on Tuesday with the winner advancing to the state championship against the winner between Southern California schools Mater Dei-Santa Ana or Marymount-Los Angeles.
Just last weekend, the Bears topped the Grizzlies for the section championship at College of the Sequoias.
The teams split during the TRAC. The match will start at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Also advancing is No. 3 Washington Union in NorCal Division V. The Panthers defeated No. 7 Vacaville Christian 25-22, 25-20, 22-25, 25-15.
Washington will host No. 4 Ripon on Tuesday in the regional finals. Ripon defeated top-seed Madera South 25-19, 15-25, 22-25, 25-21, 15-12.
