Clovis North girls extend school’s team tennis dominance to six straight championships

Clovis North High continued to cement its status as the dominant program in Central Section tennis after its girls won their third Division I team title Tuesday.

Combined with the boys program, that’s six straight section team championships for the Broncos.

Tuesday, the girls capped a 20-0 dual season with a 6-3 win over Arroyo Grande, taking care of business when they needed to and improving on a 5-4 victory over Arroyo Grande back in August.

Arroyo Grande’s Dunkle sisters, Delanie and Peyton, played for the Central Section singles championship Saturday and won their singles matches Tuesday. But Clovis North won the other four singles matches to take control heading to doubles.
