Can the Buchanan High boys and Clovis West girls water polo teams win back-to-back Central Section championships?

The Bears boys will start their effort again from the top, as they were awarded the No. 1 seed in the Division I playoffs after going 10-0 in the Tri-River Athletic Conference. The Bears, 21-4 overall, get a bye along with seeds two through seven as the opening round begins Wednesday.

Last season, Buchanan defeated Clovis 8-3 for the title.

On the girls side, Clovis West (14-12) is the top seed after going 8-2 in the TRAC. The Golden Eagles won the championship a year ago by beating Clovis 9-7.

Other No. 1 seeds on the boys side went to Garces (D-II) and Edison (D-III).

The other girls top seeds are Redwood (D-II) and Kingsburg (D-III).
