Former Clovis High, Fresno State golfer Madchen Ly advances at LPGA Q-School
Former Fresno State golfer Madchen Ly advanced to the final stage of the LPGA Q-School on Sunday after finishing among the top 80 golfers in the second-stage tournament at Plantation Golf & Country Club in Venice, Fla.
The Clovis High grad shot 10-over 298 over four rounds (72, 77, 74, 75) to finish tied for 36th out of 195 players. Nelly Korda, a 17-year old amateur and younger sister of LPGA’s Jessica Korda, won the tournament at 4-under 284.
The final tournament of qualifying school begins Dec. 2 at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla.
