Fresno State will be back in the spotlight this season, with 10 games on national TV
Fresno State had eight games selected for national broadcasts as part of the Mountain West Conference television package released on Thursday, and it will play two more national TV games through the Big 12 and the Pac-12.
The Bulldogs in their first season under coach Matt Entz will open at Kansas on Aug. 23 with a 3:30 p.m. kickoff on FOX, one of four games on the opening Saturday of the college football season.
Fresno State will then play Georgia Southern in its home opener on Aug. 30, a game that will be televised by FS1 at 6:30 p.m., the first of the eight games broadcast by Mountain West partners FOX and the CBS Sports Network.
Two games remain available for the conference’s third-tier partner or for local broadcasts, a Sept. 13 game against Southern at Valley Children’s Stadium and a Sept. 20 game at Hawaii. One game, on Oct. 10 at Colorado State, was moved to a Friday to accommodate a national TV broadcast. That game will be on the CBS Sports Network.
All six Fresno State home games will be played on a Saturday and times have been set for the opener against Georgia Southern, with an Oct. 4 game against Nevada and a Nov. 22 game against Utah State at 7:30 p.m.
Fresno State last season had only five games selected by Mountain West television partners, and the season opener at Michigan was broadcast nationally by NBC. It later had games picked up by local and third-tier TV partners.
The Bulldogs had played 11 of its 12 regular-season games on national TV in 2023 with nine as part of the conference’s national package, and all 12 of its regular-season games on national TV in 2022 with 10 as part of the Mountain West package of games.
