The Fresno State football team rolled to its 14th straight victory over Nevada in a Mountain West Conference opener on Saturday at Valley Children’s Stadium.

The win was expected by the Bulldogs.

But one problem: Fresno State was listed as a -24.5 point favorite on some betting sites.

And it looked so good for bettors, who were following the Fresno State and Nevada game.

One even had $10,277.40 on the line and already won the earlier games.

Fresno State had a 27-0 lead in the fourth quarter, but Nevada got on the scoreboard with a safety to trim the Bulldogs’ lead to 27-2 with 8 minutes, 22 seconds left.

It still looked good ... until the end.

Nevada got a touchdown with 11 seconds left, sinking the hearts of bettors everywhere who waged on Fresno State.

Could Fresno State end up on Scott Van Pelt’s Bad Beats? His shows airs at 2:30 p.m. PDT Sunday.
