Fresno State bowl projections: Where could the Bulldogs end up in December?
The Fresno State football team is going bowling, but first there’s a regular-season finale Friday at home and then the Mountain West Conference championship game Dec. 3 at Boise State.
The Bulldogs-Broncos winner next week is the only team that will know where it’s going next: the Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl on Dec. 17 against a Pac-12 team at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood.
Of seven respected college football analysts, only one thinks Fresno State will beat Boise State and advance to a dream matchup at the NFL home of the Rams and Chargers.
Bowl matchups will be set Dec. 4. In the meantime, here’s a look at the bowl predictions:
USA Today: Erick Smith predicts the Bulldogs to beat the Broncos to put them in the LA Bowl against former coach Kalen DeBoer and the Washington Huskies.
ESPN: Kyle Bonagura has the Bulldogs playing back in Boise at the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl against Toledo on Dec. 20. Mark Schlabach projects Fresno State to play Ball State at the Arizona Bowl in Tucson, Ariz., on Dec. 30.
Action Network: Brett McMurphy places the Bulldogs at the Arizona Bowl against Buffalo.
CBS Sports: Fresno State to take on Troy at the Frisco (Texas) Bowl on Dec. 17.
Pro Football Network: Frisco Bowl, but against Texas-San Antonio.
Athlon Sports: The Bulldogs are projected to play Ohio at the Arizona Bowl.
