Lawndale High offensive guard Rolan Fullwood is a legit 6-foot-5 and 305 pounds and, yes, he does have a preference when it comes to run blocking and pass blocking.

It’s the former over the latter, for one reason. “Physicality,” he said.

Fullwood as well as Lawndale teammate Johnathan Arceneaux, a running back, both found the right balance in the offense at Fresno State, making commitments on Thursday to the Bulldogs.

Fullwood and Arceneaux follow running back Jordan Hornbeak (6-0, 195) from San Joaquin Memorial and tight end Tre Watson (6-5, 222) from Cleveland High in Rio Rancho, N.M, in what is shaping up as a very productive week for Fresno State coach Kalen DeBoer and his staff on the recruiting front.

Fresno State earlier had received commitments from safety Julian Neal (6-4, 195) from San Francisco-Mission High, defensive tackles Julius Lewis (6-6, 290) from Modesto-Central Catholic and David Gusta (6-3, 250) from San Bernardino-Cajon and running back Malik Brooks (6-1, 200) from Las Vegas-Desert Pines.

Fullwood is the first offensive lineman in the class, and a good fit in a group that includes four seniors in Matt Smith, Syrus Tuitele, Alex Akingbulu and Nick Abbs, but also a lot of young talent.

He had a number of scholarship offers, his final three coming down to Fresno State, Kansas and UNLV. Fullwood, rated as a 3-star prospect by 247Sports, also was recruited by USC, Nevada and San Diego State.

“I was really excited to commit,” he said. “It was a decision I had to think on. I really like their offense. It felt like it was the place for me. Most of the offers I had, I didn’t have a chance to take visits, but it didn’t really make sense to keep waiting.”

Arceneuax, who also is rated as a 3-stat prospect, had offers from Power Five and Mountain West programs including Cal, Oregon State, Utah, Boise State, Colorado State and San Jose State.
