Fresno State scored a touchdown on a third-down play in overtime to beat Boise State 19-16 and win the Mountain West football championship on Dec. 1, 2018, at Albertsons Stadium.

For the first time in school history, Fresno State beat Boise State on the Broncos’ blue turf.

And with that historic 19-16 overtime victory — thanks to Ronnie Rivers’ winning, 1-yard touchdown run x— the Bulldogs also captured the Mountain West championship.

The win brought out many reactions from former players who were glued to the television hoping to see their alma mater win for the first time on the blue turf in 11 tries.

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams, who helped the Bulldogs to two Mountain West titles, showed his excitement.

Josh Harper and others chimed in.

Fans and others like Yahoo’s Chris Haynes and San Antonio Spurs’ Quincy Pondexter showed their excitement on the win.

Even former Fresno State Athletic Director Jim Bartko gave props to the Bulldogs.

Bartko is the one who spearheaded the hiring of Fresno State coach Jeff Tedford back in 2016 before he and the university cut ties in Nov. 2017.
