Bulldogs fall out of Top 25 rankings after loss at Boise State

The Fresno State Bulldogs slipped out of the Associated Press Top 25 and the Coaches Poll after their 24-17 loss at Boise State and are likely to drop out of the College Football Playoff rankings after another rough weekend for ranked teams. They were one of eight to lose.

The Bulldogs, No. 16 in the AP Top 25 last week, received 61 points in the poll and sit 28th. They were No. 17 in the Coaches Poll and received 64 points, ranking 27th.

Fresno State was No. 23 in the first and second CFP rankings.

The third CFP rankings will be released on Tuesday.

Mountain West Conference rival Utah State moved up to No. 14 in the AP poll and No. 13 in the coaches poll. The Aggies are 9-1, 6-0 in conference play and lead the nation in scoring offense at 51.3 points per game. They end the regular season with games at Colorado State and at Boise State, the latter likely to determine the Mountain Division champion in the conference.

Fresno State (8-2, 5-1) plays on Saturday against San Diego State with a shot to wrap up the West Division. The Aztecs lost Saturday night to UNLV 27-23 and come in 7-3 and 4-2.
