Could Fresno State twins’ valuation hit seven figures? HBO to feature the Cavinder sisters
Fresno State twins Haley and Hanna Cavinder, who have been lighting up social media and are exhibits 1A and 1B of the booming potential of marketing deals with college student-athletes, are featured this week on HBO Real Sports.
The episode, on the shift in NCAA rules allowing student-athletes to monetize their Name, Image or Likeness, will air on HBO Tuesday from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. It also will be available to stream on HBO Max.
The Cavinders, among the biggest stars in the NIL world, have signed a number of deals with companies large and small since NCAA NIL legislation went into effect July 1. The first deal for the guards on the Bulldogs’ women’s basketball team was with Boost Mobile, which featured them on a large billboard in Times Square.
They also have their own branded clothing line, deals with SixStar Pro Nutrition, GoPuff, Bulletproof Coffee and last week signed a deal with PSD Underwear, all featured on their social media platform that has only continued to grow, expanding their reach and marketability.
The Cavinders’ shared TikTok now has more than 3.7 million followers and their posts have been liked more than 78.1 million times. They also have a large presence on Instagram, YouTube and Twitter, only adding to a valuation that was estimated at $600,000 back in July and has only continued to grow.
“The girls are going to be busy,” Darren Heitner, the twins’ legal counsel, said back in July. “There are a lot of professional athletes who don’t come close to them in terms of number of followers, the type of engagement, how great their personalities are and their connection to fans.
“It’s not just Instagram, it’s TikTok, it’s YouTube. They’re starting to devote some more time to Twitter. They cover all bases. Honestly, I think they’re a brand’s dream come true.”
