Two games do not make a trend, but there does seem to be a lid on the basket for the Fresno State women’s basketball team this season.
Wednesday night, the Bulldogs beat Cal Poly 76-58 in their home opener at the Save Mart Center despite shooting just 42.9 percent from the field.
The Bulldogs had eight days to chew on their season-opening loss at Northern Arizona, where they shot just 39.4 percent from the field.
Cal Poly was Fresno State’s equal in shooting percentage but only got off 56 shots (to the Bulldogs’ 70). Fresno State capitalized on 29 Mustang turnovers, enjoying a 36-6 advantage in points off turnovers.
