Fresno State forward Nate Grimes will be held out of the Bulldogs’ basketball exhibition on Friday against Humboldt State while an eligibility issue is worked out.

Grimes, one of only three returning players to average at least 12 minutes per game, was one of the most productive players per minute in the Mountain West Conference a year ago. The 6-foot-8 junior averaged 4.6 points and 5.4 rebounds per game – 14.5 points and 17.4 rebounds per 40 minutes.

Grimes’ status will be updated on Tuesday before the Bulldogs open the season against Alaska-Anchorage at the Save Mart Center.
