Fresno State women’s soccer captain Fanny Johannsson suspended one match
Fresno State women’s soccer player Fanny Johansson was suspended for one game Friday after her arrest last weekend at a party.
Johansson, a senior team captain, missed the Bulldogs’ Mountain West Conference-opening match at Colorado State on Friday, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
The 23-year-old from Gävle, Sweden, was arrested early Sunday on suspicion of disorderly conduct and obstruction of a police officer while Fresno police were breaking up a party in north Fresno.
Two members of the Fresno State football team – quarterback Zack Greenlee and linebacker Brandon Hughes – also were arrested. Greenlee, 20, was accused of public drunkenness and Hughes, 21, of obstruction of a police officer.
All code of conduct cases are reviewed separately by a committee.
Fresno State will announce the outcomes of Greenlee’s and Hughes’ cases on Saturday before the Bulldogs’ game at San Jose State.
