Fresno State men’s tennis coach resigns
Fresno State men’s tennis coach Evan Austin has resigned after three seasons with the Bulldogs.
Austin, who is from Naples, Florida, has accepted director’s position at Smith Stearns Tennis Academy in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
“We are very thankful for his passion and leadership that he put into the program,” Athletic Director Jim Bartko said in a news release. “We wish him well with his new professional opportunity ... that is much closer to his family on the East Coast.”
In Austin’s final season, the Bulldogs finished with 16 wins and the program’s first ITA ranking since early 2013.
A national search has already begun to find Austin’s replacement. In the interim, Bulldogs women’s coach Ryan Stotland will lead the men’s team, which opens its fall season Sept. 12-14 at the Napa Invitational.
