Fresno State announces women’s soccer schedule
Fresno State released its upcoming soccer schedule, which is highlighted by trips to the Nike Carolina Classic and the state of Oregon.
The Bulldogs will even hold a preseason exhibition at Stanford on Aug. 15, which finished No. 3 in last year’s final national rankings.
Fresno State begins the season on the East Coast against Duke on Aug. 21, then two days later faces North Carolina in the Nike Carolina Classic in Chapel Hill, N.C.
The Bulldogs then travel to the northwest part of the country to play at Oregon State, then at Oregon.
“We have a very difficult travel schedule during conference,” said coach Brian Zwaschka, who enters his seventh season with the Bulldogs. “So we’ve scheduled some equally difficult travel weekends early so we can learn to deal with the road and all the unpredictability that comes with travel.”
The Bulldogs’ home opener is against Cal State Northridge on Sept. 4.
Fresno State went 4-16-0 overall and 3-8 in Mountain West play last season.
