NBA’s Quincy Pondexter gets hoops hand in Fresno from Lamar Odom
Former Los Angeles Lakers star Lamar Odom is in Fresno.
Quincy Pondexter, the New Orleans Pelicans forward and Memorial High School alum, has started an AAU program in Fresno and had some help from the two-time NBA champion.
Pondexter said his friend is doing “more than well” after suffering a near-fatal drug overdose seven months ago. Odom was hospitalized after he was found unconscious at a Nevada brothel.
Odom was chatting with coaches and observing practice while Pondexter instructed his players at Central High.
Pondexter is sponsoring 30 players to travel throughout the state and Las Vegas to play in tournaments.
