A’s Valencia has a career day
Danny Valencia of the A’s is on some kind of a roll. He hit two home runs on Friday in a 6-3 win over Tampa Bay in St. Petersburg, Fla. He had a career day on Sunday, driving three homers, the last of which was a two-run shot in the ninth inning to lift Oakland to a 7-6 win over the Rays.
He also hit a solo homer in the first inning and a two-run shot in the fifth and drove in five runs. Valencia is on a 10-game hitting streak, during which he has a .405 average.
He joins Lorenzo Cain, Aaron Hill and Andrew McCutchen as the only major leaguers with three-homer games this season.
Here is a look at Valencia’s homers from Sunday’s game.
