Cowboys dodge raindrops to put in highlight performances at Clovis Rodeo

The rain didn’t hinder the cowboys Friday night at the 102nd Clovis Rodeo, as there were plenty of highlight performances as the PRCA Gold Tour ProRodeo event opened its three-day run.

Shane Proctor scored an 88-point ride in bull riding and Luke Creasy and Winn Ratliff each scored an 81 in bareback riding.

In steer wrestling, Tanner Milan and Scott Guenther tied for the best time at 4.3 seconds while Zeke Thurston had an 82.5-ride in saddle bronc. Kimmie Wall had a 16.25-second ride in barrel racing.

The rodeo continues at 2 p.m. Saturday before concluding Sunday.

Tickets cost $20-$30 and are available at www.clovisrodeo.com, 559-299-5233 or at the rodeo grounds.
