Fresno Pacific baseball announces scrimmage against Visalia Rawhide
The Fresno Pacific baseball team announced Monday that it will play a scrimmage against professional minor league club Visalia Rawhide.
The first annual Central Valley Scrim-Jam will take place April 5 at Recreation Ballpark in Visalia. First pitch is at 7 p.m.
As part of the scrimmage deal, Rawhide pitchers will throw against both teams. Coaches also will be able to stop the game to give instructions. The event is free to the public and will include a live DJ and numerous prizes to be given away to fans.
The Rawhide are the Advanced-A affiliate for the Arizona Diamondbacks and are coming off a historic 2015 campaign in which they finished 86-54 and won both halves in the California League’s North Division.
It’s the second time in program history that the Sunbirds will face a minor league club, playing an exhibition against the Triple-A Fresno Grizzlies in 2011.
