Former Edison High and Fresno City College star Keyora Wharry did all she could to help Colorado State get to the second round of the Women’s NCAA Tournament.
The Rams senior guard/forward scored the opening points of the Bridgeport Regional game and finished with seven to go with 11 rebounds but 11th-seeded Colorado State fell 48-45 to No. 6 South Florida at Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles.
Wharry gave Colorado State a 2-0 lead with 8:05 left in the first period. Her next basket, with 8:58 left in the third, made it 28-25 in the Rams’ favor.
Colorado State trailed 46-39 in the fourth period before Wharry’s layup trimmed the Bulls’ lead. Her free throw pulled the Rams wiithin 48-42 with 2:33 remaining.

Wharry also had an assist, block and steal and finished her Colorado State career with 531 points and 275 rebounds.
