Five former Fresno City College football players and the late Tony Cantu will be inducted into the Wall of Fame on Sunday.

The induction will take place at Pardini’s, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Here’s a quick look at each of the inductees:

Matt Giordano, defensive back, 2001-02: Over his two seasons, he helped the Rams to a 19-3 record and two Northern California championship games. He was named all-conference as a freshman when the Rams won the Valley Conference. Giordano finished his college career at Cal before getting selected in the fifth round of the 2005 NFL draft by the Indianapolis Colts. He played nine seasons in the NFL with the Colts, Oakland Raiders and St. Louis Rams – highlighted by the Colts’ 29-17 victory over the Chicago Bears in Super Bowl XLI in 2007. Giordano is an assistant prep football coach at his alma mater, Buchanan High.

Earl Charles, running back, 2001-02: Charles rushed 394 times for 2,751 yards, 32 touchdowns and a career average of 6.98 yards per carry – second in school history behind former NFL running back Maurice Morris, and joined Morris as the first two Rams with back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons. He was a two-time All-Valley Conference selection and a first-team JC Grid-Wire All-American in 2002. Charles went on to play for Marshall and later signed as a free agent with the New England Patriots. He is a police officer in Douglasville, Ga.

Carlos Cox, linebacker, 1997 and 1999: Played for Tony Caviglia in his first season as Rams coach in 1999. That year, Cox helped Fresno City limit opponents to 1,001 rushing yards in 10 games. Was named All-Valley Conference and later played for West Texas A&M. Following college, Cox played two seasons in the Canadian Football League and three in the Arena Football League.

Tracey Hunt, linebacker, 1997 and 1999: Named JC Grid-Wire All-American in 1999 after earning All-Valley Conference first-team honors in 1997 as an outside linebacker and defensive end. Like, Cox, Hunt went on to play for West Texas A&M.

Sean Soares, running back/kick returner, 1999-2000: As a freshman, Sores returned 15 kickoffs for 475 yards and two touchdowns. As a sophomore, he was the All-Valley Conference kick return specialist and All-State Region II. He transferred to New Mexico State.

Tony Cantu, cornerstone (posthumously): In 2011, Mr. Cantu was interim Fresno City College president and later became the 10th school president in 2012. Mr. Cantu died earlier this year at the age of 64.
