210 fall athletes to watch over 70 days
Gabe Raya, North County football: A three-year starting linebacker and enforcer, North County head coach Juan Cuevas referred to Raya as an ‘old school Condor'.
The 5-foot-11, 200-pounder also proved to be a serviceable power back when injuries depleted the Condors, rushing for a team high 348 yards.
Lucy Crawford, Monterey cross country: Becoming the first Toreadore to dip under 20 minutes at Toro Park in over a decade, Crawford is a two-time all-leaguer.
The junior finished third at the Mission Division finals and came within two spots of earning an individual qualifying spot for the State Division III championships.
Dominic Longoria, Alvarez football: An outside linebacker, Longoria recorded eight or more tackles in five games last year for the Eagles, with an interception and forced fumble.
The expectation is that Longoria's workload as a running back will increase this year, having rushed for just under 300 yards in limited touches.
