'Good Riddance' - Fans Done With Bryson DeChambeau After U.S. Open Collapse

The 2026 season has officially gone from bad to worse for two-time U.S. Open champion Bryson DeChambeau.

After finishing the opening round of the 2026 U.S. Open with an even-par 70, DeChambeau seemed well on his way to making the cut this weekend. Well, that was before he shot 5-over 75 this Friday at Shinnecock Hills. It was a disappointing performance from DeChambeau, who struggled with his wedge game and putter.

DeChambeau already missed the cut for the Masters and PGA Championship this year. If he misses the cut for the U.S. Open, that would continue his unfortunate streak at majors.

For what it's worth, the current cut line for the U.S. Open is at 4-over par. With that being said, golf fans are airing out their complaints about DeChambeau.

"Dechambeau is chasing is own slam this week, the Bryson slam," one fan commented. "Missing all four major cuts in the same year."

"He doesn't take competitive golf seriously anymore," a second fan declared.. All about the YouTube/social media content. Good riddance.

"Bryson DeShambles is another victim of LIV golf - fewer tourneys, easy money and little competition = it's very tough to get ready when real golf rolls around like the majors," a third fan wrote.

"The beginning of his career was phenomenal - physics nerd who used it with a single-track mind to optimize his game, culminating with a major victory," another fan said. "Then came the long drive contests, YouTube, and equipment obsession. His divided focus has cost him on execution."

DeChambeau is at a crossroads.

Roughly a month ago, DeChambeau said on the "Katie Miller Pod" that he's unsure what the future has in store for him.

"I'm in that weird space right now, I don't know what to do, either: Content creation or professional golf," DeChambeau said. "I don't know what to do right now."

This week's performance at Shinnecock Hills won't ease any concerns about DeChambeau's game, that's for sure.
