Valkyries' star forward signs with Unrivaled

Gabby Williams, the Valkyries' two-time Olympic medalist and former WNBA All-Star, is signing a multiyear deal with Unrivaled, the 3-on-3 league announced Thursday.

The eight-year WNBA veteran is in her first season with the Valkyries after signing as a free agent from the Seattle Storm. Unrivaled begins its third season in January.

"I'm incredibly excited to announce that I'll be playing in Unrivaled next season," Williams said in a statement. "The opportunity to compete alongside some of the best players in the world, continue growing my game, and be part of something that is pushing women's basketball forward is truly special. Can't wait to get started. See you soon, Unrivaled!"

Williams, who led the Valkyries in All-Star fan votes when the initial totals were announced Wednesday, is averaging a career-high 16.3 points while shooting a career-best 37.8% from behind the arc.

She began her WNBA career in 2018 after being drafted fourth overall by the Chicago Sky out of UConn. The Huskies compiled a 148-3 record and captured consecutive national championships in 2015 and 2016 with Williams on the team.

Williams represented France on the Olympic stage in both 2020 and 2024, earning bronze and silver medals, respectively. At the Paris 2024 Olympics, Williams was named to the All-Star Five and earned the Best Defensive Player Award while leading France in points (15.5), assists (4.8) and steals (2.8).
