What Happened to Christian Pulisic? Tyler Adams Provides Health Update On the USMNT Star Before Australia Match
The USMNT could not have asked for a better start to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, opening the tournament with a 4-1 victory over Paraguay.
While head coach Mauricio Pochettino will have been pleased with the result, there was a moment of concern during the match regarding the team's biggest star Christian Pulisic.
The USMNT captain was substituted at halftime after taking a hard kick to his left calf during the first half.
According to reports, Pulisic is currently recovering from a minor calf contusion but is expected to be available for the United States' next Group D match against Australia.
Tyler Adams Gives Update on Christian Pulisic
Speaking to the media, teammate Tyler Adams provided an update on Pulisic's condition and suggested there is no major cause for concern.
"Christian will be ready, everyone. Let's relax. I think that he picked up a knock a few days before the game, and I think he got kicked in the same spot again during the game. And when you go in at halftime, things obviously get tight within the 15-20 minute break, but he'll be fine."
American soccer journalist Tom Bogert also reported that Pulisic took part in a modified training session. While the rest of the squad trained together, the AC Milan forward worked individually in the gym before continuing his recovery work on the field.
With Adams expressing confidence in his teammate's fitness and Pulisic already back on the training ground, the United States will be hopeful that the AC Milan forward is ready for the match against Australia.
The USMNT will then conclude the Group stage on 25th June against Turkey.
