Jalen Brunson's Dad Doesn't Think He's The Best Knicks Player Ever

Is Jalen Brunson the best Knicks player of all-time?

Most would likely make that argument after Saturday night. Brunson, the former Villanova point guard turned NBA star, led the Knicks to a championship. New York topped San Antonio in Game 5, winning the NBA Finals, 4-1, and giving the Knicks their first championship since the 1970s.

Brunson, who won two championships at the college level, was named the NBA Finals MVP on Saturday night.

Brunson, understandably, was overjoyed with the championship and the NBA Finals MVP honor.

"It's everything we ever dreamed of," Brunson said to ESPN's Ernie Johnson after accepting the Bill Russell Trophy, given to the NBA Finals MVP.

"It's why I came to New York."

Knicks teammates were impressed, too.

"Resilient, mentally tough ... no matter if we're down, [he stays] in attack mode and plays to the end," said OG Anunoby.

"He's an amazing player and it showed. [He] showed the world tonight."

But is he the best Knicks player of all-time? His dad says no.

Rick Brunson names best Knicks player ever

According to Brunson's dad, Rick, he is not the best Knicks player of all-time. That honor would go to Patrick Ewing.

"I'm gonna stop the argument too, no disrespect, I love my son, Patrick Ewing is the greatest Knick that I've ever witnessed," he said.

Kenny Smith replied: "Well, I'm gonna say it, it's gonna be debateable now."

It's certainly going to be a debate moving forward.

And, unlike his dad, most people will probably go with Jalen Brunson over the rest of the Knicks' all-time greats.
