2026 kits and jerseys: The colors of the World Cup in the Bay Area
As you might have heard by now, the Bay Area will host six World Cup matches at Levi’s Stadium. For the first five, the region will welcome players and fans from eight different countries: Qatar, Switzerland, Austria, Jordan, Paraguay, Turkey, Australia and Algeria.
Many Bay Area cities, particularly Santa Clara, are likely to be covered in multicolor jerseys representing these teams. As such, we’ve put together a quick visual cheat sheet to help you recognize each of the 16 home and away jerseys you might see parading around town.

More brands than ever
The 2026 World Cup is the first with 48 participants. Among several changes, this also means that we’ll see several teams wearing brands that are unknown to the American consumer. While Nike and Adidas have dominated national team uniforms in the most recent tournaments, this year we’ll see brands like Marathon (Ecuador), 7Saber (Uzbekistan), Jako (Iraq), Kelme (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and Capelli Sport (Cape Verde). Reebok (Panama) and Umbro (Democratic Republic of Congo) are former powerhouses making a subtle comeback.
Teams playing in the Bay Area
The teams playing here are mostly clad by the top brands: Puma (Paraguay, Austria and Switzerland), Adidas (Algeria and Qatar) and Nike (Turkey and Australia). Kelme is Jordan’s provider.
While it will be easy for soccer fans to recognize Paraguay’s vertical red-and-white stripes, or Australia’s yellow-and-green combination, the rest might not be as well known. However, fans will find five shirts that have different tones of red (Turkey home, Switzerland home, Qatar home, Austria home and Jordan away), which might get confusing. And while three are in green, they’re different enough: Australia’s away has a distinctive peach color at the top, Algeria’s gorgeous away kit has thin green stripes in two tones, and Switzerland’s away kit looks like a tie-dye shirt out of San Francisco’s Haight-Ashbury district.

The host teams
For the first time in history, three countries will host the World Cup: United States, Mexico and Canada. Each of these kits has a clear sources of inspiration and distinctive features: Nike brought back the red stripes for the USMNT’s home kit, but with added movement and pizzaz. The starry away kit is a big upgrade compared to busy jerseys in 2022. Both are clearly inspired by the kits worn in 1994.
Mexico’s Adidas home kit is inspired by one of the most popular designs in its history: the iconic Aztec calendar jersey by ABA Sport for France 1998. Meanwhile, Nike made good use of Canada’s national symbol, splashing a duo-tone maple leaf across a beautiful bright red home kit.
Along with the kits for the eight teams playing in the Bay Area, we bet these six are among the ones you’ll see the most in the streets of Santa Clara, San Jose, Oakland, San Francisco and beyond. Which one is your favorite?
