Caitlin Clark Reacts to Sophie Cunningham Move After 11 Games

Caitlin Clark delivered when the Indiana Fever needed her most on Monday night. With Indiana trailing by one point a, Clark buried a deep three-pointer with 1.2 seconds left to lift the Fever to a 78-76 victory over the Washington Mystics.

The game-winning basket started with an inbound pass from Sophie Cunningham, who found Clark after a defensive gamble by Washington left the Fever star open on the left wing. Clark finished with 19 points, five assists, three rebounds and a steal, while Cunningham added eight points, converting two of her four shot attempts from beyond the arc along with two rebounds and three assists in 23 minutes.

After the game, Cunningham shared a series of photos on Instagram celebrating the win. The carousel also included a humorous cartoon meme featuring Cunningham and Clark discussing the final play with head coach Stephanie White.

The post drew reactions from her Fever teammates, including Clark who posted a heartfelt response to Cunningham: "Love you Soph."

Cunningham has become a fan favorite in Indiana since joining the franchise in 2025. The 29-year-old star has also developed a close-knit friendship with Clark, with the two regularly expressing their admiration for each other publicly.

Indiana entered the 2026 season with significant expectations but has struggled to find consistency through its first 11 games. Monday's win improved the Fever to 6-5 and kept them sixth in the WNBA standings.

The Fever now return to Gainbridge Fieldhouse for a matchup against the Chicago Sky on Thursday at 7 p.m. ET. Another victory would move Indiana two games above .500, a result Fever fans would welcome with open arms.
