'It's Over' - Yankees Fans Panicking About Aaron Judge's Injury Diagnosis

The New York Yankees will have to get used to life without Aaron Judge for at least the next month of the 2026 season.

Judge, a three-time American League MVP, hasn't played since May 31 due to injury. After undergoing various tests, it was determined that he's dealing with a stress fracture of the first rib on his right side. This diagnosis came after his meeting with Dr. Gregory Pearl, who specializes in thoracic outlet syndrome.

"OF Aaron Judge has been diagnosed with a stress fracture of the first rib on his right side," the Yankees said. "This will require a period of rest and limited activity. He will be reimaged in approximately four to six weeks to determine level of healing and appropriate next steps. Judge is expected to return at some point this season."

Although the Yankees are expected to have Judge back this year, fans in the Bronx are convinced his season is over.

"His next AB will be in September if they're lucky," a Yankee fan declared. "This season is over. Might as well sell at the deadline. Fire cashman for wasting the entire prime of Judge. That's why you go all in when he's healthy."

"Doesn't sound good looks like hes gone for at least 2 months," a second fan wrote.

"This certainly doesn't mean he'll be ready in 6 weeks.," another person commented. "This screams mid August at best to me."

"This is so sad and heartbreaking. Praying for complete recovery Cap," a Yankees fan commented.

"The Yankees let Judge play (terribly) for weeks with an injury and only waited to run tests until it got worse," another fan said. "After years of wasting Judge's talent by not building a full lineup around him, they somehow managed to take such little precaution with his health. Disgraceful."

Who'll replace Judge during his time on the IL?

The Yankees may consider playing Max Schuemann in right field during Judge's absence. He got his first career start on Thursday against the Cleveland Guardians.

It's also possible the Yankees use Jose Caballero, Jasson Dominguez and Amed Rosario in the outfield.

Last but not least, the Yankees could ask Spencer Jones to take on a bigger role.

As of this moment, the Yankees are towards the top of the AL standings with a 37-25 record.
