Kelsey Plum Injury Update: Sparks Coach Has No Timetable for Return
Kelsey Plum was diagnosed with an ankle sprain after suffering it during a practice session. Lynne Roberts shared an update on her star guard's status.
On Tuesday, the Los Angeles Sparks head coach told reporters that Plum is considered day-to-day. She avoided a serious injury, and the medical team scheduled her for re-evaluation after a week.
However, Roberts added that there's no clear timeline for her return. The four-time All-Star has missed the team's last three games as she continues to recover. She remains at home but has made good progress.
"She's day-to-day, we don't know when she'll be back," Roberts said. "But if I know anything, she'll be back as soon as she's been given any sort of - I don't know if it has to be green in her mind - just some sort of greenish light, and she'll be back,"

Before she got hurt, Plum played at an MVP level. She has averaged a career-high 26.8 points and 6.3 assists, along with 1.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists.
The Sparks are on a two-game losing skid, including Tuesday's 79-69 defeat against the Las Vegas Aces.
Rae Burrell did all she could for the Sparks amid Plum's absence. The 6-foot-2 guard-forward finished with a team-high 22 points. L.A., however, had no answer for reigning WNBA MVP A'ja Wilson, who dropped a monster 25-point, 15-rebounds double-double in the win.
The Sparks will face the Dallas Wings and Portland Fire in an upcoming two-game homestand. Los Angeles is 4-5, and having the two-time WNBA champion back will be key in their quest to make the playoffs for the first time in six years.
