News About Caitlin Clark's Boyfriend Connor McCaffery Emerges

Connor McCaffrey often draws attention for his relationship with Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark. However, he recently made headlines after the Noblesville Boom of the NBA G League named him a player development assistant.

The big career news came after McCaffrey served as a team assistant for the Indiana Pacers in 2023. He moved to Butler and spent the last two seasons as its assistant coach.

The Boom, previously the Indiana Mad Ants, also appointed Bryce Taylor as their head coach on Monday. McCaffrey has a ton of experience, as he played collegiate basketball for the Iowa Hawkeyes. The retired guard appeared in 166 games, including 89 starts.

Pacers and Fever beat reporter Scott Agness posted the news on X.

McCaffrey's knowledge and résumé, along with Taylor's hiring, will help boost Noblesville's chances of making the playoffs next season. The team finished with a 16-20 record in 2025-26, good for 10th in the league.

The Boom's debut campaign showed a lot of promise, and they'll potentially continue to have the services of Cody Martin, Kam Jones and Ethan Thompson, among others.

Meanwhile, Clark and the Indiana Fever have struggled to start the season. They only have a 4-4 record to show after losing back-to-back games. The superstar guard aims to put her disappointing performances in the last two games in the rearview mirror. She uncharacteristically scored just 22 combined points on 4-for-19 shooting.

Next up for Clark and Co. is a showdown against Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream on Thursday. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m. ET.

McCaffery, who has been in a relationship with Clark since 2023, could be one of the tens of thousands of fans at Gainbridge Fieldhouse for Thursday's marquee matchup.
