Caitlin Clark's Fans Are 'Furious' With Fever Coach Stephanie White
Things are not going very well for the Indiana Fever right now.
The Fever have dropped two straight games, falling to 4-4 on the season, while Caitlin Clark has been struggling. Clark, the team's star player, had her worst game of the season in a loss to Portland. She had just six points and six assists a 100-84 loss to Portland over the weekend.
Clark had a miserable night, going 1-of-7 from the field, while picking up five fouls in only 22 minutes. But Indiana's fan base was not happy with the performance of head coach Stephanie White. After Indiana jumped out to a big lead early, White pulled pull Clark, Aliyah Boston and Lexie Hull. Portland responded with a big run of their own.
Some of Clark's fans, even, are accusing the team's head coach of "intentionally sabotaging" the point guard.
Others have made it clear they're "furious."
Clark's fans not happy with team's head coach
One clip in particular has gone viral, too.
WNBA fans are not happy with her rotations, either.
"I watched the game for a bit. Why does Caitlin Clark sit for minutes at a time? I watched Indiana struggle every time Caitlin was on the bench, yet there she sat. I've never seen anything like it in pro sports," one wrote.
"She's basically saying I got my hands up on D and they're calling fouls...what do you want me to do? I can't blame her. She doesn't get the same calls on offense that they are calling on her on defense. It's gotta be frustrating," one fan added.
"Free Caitlin Clark!" one shared.
"Clark and White cannot coexist. Eventually, Clark will be traded, or White will be fired. I think White will be let go, given that a Clark trade would be a financial disaster for Indiana. But it's going to be one or the other. The Portland loss was embarrassing," one shared.
"This is so lame, Jordan always argued but Phil Jackson listened, never disrespected his player. The coach needs to tame her ego and listen, She is the best player in the league," one fan added.
Do the Fever have a problem brewing between their star player and head coach?
