When Is Mexico's World Cup Squad Announcement? Date, Time, and Everything We Know So Far
Most national teams have announced their World Cup rosters for the World Cup this summer, but one of the last teams to have yet to make it official is one of the host nations, Mexico.
Something unique about the Mexican national team this year is that head coach Javier Aguirre decided to call up multiple players who play in Liga MX in early May to begin training a month before the World Cup starts.
The decision was questioned by many in Mexico, as some players selected for the early camp had to leave their clubs, who were playing in the Liga MX Liguilla (playoffs).
Over the past few weeks, the Mexican Football Federation (FMF) has announced more players joining the camp, specifically players who play in Europe.
With over 26 players now, Aguirre will finally announce the 26-man Mexico World Cup roster following the friendly match against Australia.
When Will The Mexico World Cup Squad Be Announced?
The official Mexico World Cup squad announcement will be made on May 31, 2026, a day after Mexico vs Australia.
Fox Sports Mexico reports that the FMF is preparing a special video and an official statement to announce the 26 players who are included in the Mexico World Cup squad.
There are rumors in Mexico suggesting that Javier Aguirre will not have a press conference after the roster is announced, but he is expected to receive questions from the players he selected before the friendly match against Serbia next Thursday.
There is yet to be an official time for the announcement, but it could range between the morning and the afternoon.
