Aztecs get kick times, broadcast networks for most of 2026 football season

San Diego State regularly plays some football games on Friday nights and, in fact, opened last season on a Thursday night.

But Aztecs football will be strictly a Saturday affair this season.

Kickoff times and broadcast networks were announced Wednesday for 10 of SDSU’s 12 games, all of which will be played on Saturday for the first time since 2012. Games will be broadcast primarily by USA Network, The CW and CBS Sports Network, with most of the kick times from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

SDSU's Sept. 5 season opener against Portland State will start at 6:30 p.m. from Snapdragon Stadium and air on USA. The Aztecs' other nonconference home game is Sept. 19 against James Madison at 7 p.m. (The CW).

The Aztecs travel to UCLA for a Sept. 12 game at the Rose Bowl that begins at 4:15 p.m. (Big Ten Network). It is one of three afternoon games, along with the Oct. 10 game at Oregon State (3 p.m., USA) and Oct. 31 game vs. Washington State (4 p.m., CBSSN).

The Aztecs kick off play in the Pac-12 on Oct. 3 against Texas State (7:30 p.m., The CW) at Snapdragon Stadium. In addition to Texas State and Washington State, SDSU plays two other Pac-12 home games - Oct. 17 against Fresno State (7:30 p.m., CBSSN) and Nov. 14 against Utah State (6:30 p.m., USA).

Two conference road games, Oct. 24 at Colorado State (The CW) and Nov. 21 at Boise State (USA), both have 6:30 p.m. PT kickoff times.

Kickoff times and broadcast information have not been determined for the Sept. 26 nonconference game at Toledo. Those details are not expected to be revealed until two weeks before kickoff.

Details for the Nov. 28 game, tentatively scheduled against Fresno State, also aren't expected to be determined until a week or two beforehand. The regular-season finale has been designated a "flex" game by the Pac-12, which will create matchups that best help the conference's teams position themselves for a potential College Football Playoff berth.

SDSU, which finished 9-4 last season, begins summer conditioning on Monday. The Aztecs start fall practice Aug. 5, one month before the season opener.
