There's Speculation President Trump Will Make Appearance At NBA Finals

President Donald Trump has already attended a Super Bowl matchup since returning to office in 2025. Could attending an NBA Finals game be on next on his bucket list?

The New York Knicks have already secured a spot in the NBA Finals by sweeping the Cleveland Cavaliers. Although it sounds absurd to say, Mike Brown's squad hasn't lost a game since April 23.

The Oklahoma City Thunder, on the other hand, are a win away from getting back to the NBA Finals. They'll try to take care of the San Antonio Spurs in Game 6 this Thursday.

While the matchup hasn't been finalized just yet, Zolan Kanno-Youngs and Tyler Pager of The New York Times are repoorting that Trump is planning to attend an NBA Finals game at Madison Square Garden.

"If the Knicks had lost Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals on Monday, Mr. Trump had planned to make a surprise appearance among the team's faithful at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday, according to three people familiar with the planning," they wrote for The New York Times. "But after the Knicks completed a sweep of the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday, the president is turning to the NBA championship."

The president has a clear rooting interest.

During a recent interview with Sid Rosenberg of 77 WABC, the president of the United States confirmed that he's rooting for the Knicks.

"I get along with Jim Dolan, I think he's a really good guy," Trump said. "Boy, some of these players have turned out to be great players. Philadelphia is a tough team – their center [Joel] Embiid is a big guy – and you thought those games would be good, but they were winning by 35 points. I really like Jim Dolan a lot. I'm really happy for him and the team."

Trump has not yet commented on the Knicks sweeping the Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals.
