Lane Kiffin Adds Another Transfer QB as Son of SEC Legend Commits to LSU

Lane Kiffin just added yet another name to the quarterback room through the transfer portal.

Kaden Martin, the son of former Tennessee national championship quarterback and current LSU offensive analyst Tee Martin, announced Friday that he is transferring to LSU, becoming the fourth QB addition of Kiffin's first offseason in Baton Rouge.

The former three-star recruit from Buford High School in Georgia originally signed with Miami in the 2022 class as a multi-sport athlete, also committing to playing baseball for the Hurricanes.

As a freshman at Miami, he played two games with the baseball team, including three at-bats, but never cracked the football roster.

To date, he has not taken a snap at the collegiate level and now joins an already crowded quarterback room at LSU.

Kaden’s father, Tee Martin, remains SEC royalty in college football. After backing up Peyton Manning at Tennessee, Tee took over in 1998 and led the Volunteers to a perfect 13-0 season and a national championship, the program's first since 1951.

Following a brief professional playing career that included stops with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Philadelphia Eagles, and Oakland Raiders, along with time in NFL Europe and the CFL, Martin transitioned into coaching.

He started at the high school level in the Atlanta area before building an extensive college résumé spanning more than a decade, serving in roles that included quarterbacks coach, wide receivers coach, passing game coordinator, and offensive coordinator.

Now an offensive analyst under Kiffin, Martin brings decades of playing and coaching experience to a program facing immediate championship expectations.

Since taking over at LSU, Kiffin has attacked the portal aggressively.

The headliner is Sam Leavitt, the former Arizona State quarterback expected to enter 2026 as LSU's starter if healthy after offseason foot surgery.

Behind him sits former USC quarterback Husan Longstreet, a highly regarded former five-star prospect viewed by many as the future face of the program.

Then there's Landen Clark, the Elon transfer and 2025 CAA Co-Offensive Rookie of the Year, whose early production and multi-year eligibility make him one of LSU's most intriguing options.

Now add Martin to the mix.
