Jeff Bezos Is the Odds-On Favorite to Buy the Seattle Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks are the reigning, defending, and undisputed champions of the NFL.
And they’re also for sale.
Champion teams are often not for sale, but that’s the case in Seattle, where the team has reportedly been seeking over $10 billion for its new ownership group, the same amount or more than Los Angeles Dodgers owner Mark Walter paid for the Los Angeles Lakers last year.
So, with a team in a good market, fully in a championship window, and in the most popular sports league in North America, what type of person or group has enough money to own the Seahawks?
Well, maybe someone with ties to Washington state and Seattle.

Per Polymarket, the prediction site, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is the favorite currently to buy the team at 25%.
The $10 billion price tag wouldn’t make Bezos blink, as he is currently valued at over $280 billion on his own.
Bezos turned Amazon from a homegrown business in Seattle into the global giant it is today, with its hands in everything from livestreaming to health care.
The Amazon founder was believed to be interested in the Washington Commanders before they were sold, and his name has been continually linked to the Seahawks since it was rumored they’d go on sale.
Behind Bezos are a myriad of names that, unlike Bezos, would most likely need to partner with others to buy the team as a group: Tim Cook of Apple, or possibly a retiring LeBron James, who has been adamant about wanting to be a sports owner in the next stage of his professional career.
